meet the innkeepers
who we are
Innkeepers David and Mary Etta Jafek and son John opened their doors to visitors in 2006 and have long been known for their friendly, welcoming spirits. David is a fourth-generation Stillwater resident, while Mary Etta is from eastern Oklahoma and wistfully recalls the "rocks and trees" even after more than 35 years in Stillwater.
Daughter Jenny Jafek-Jones, proprietor of the crimson poppy, husband Rick, and granddaughter Seren lend a hand and offer a welcoming smile every now and again, too. our specialities
If you want to know about the history of OSU, David's the man to ask! Beginning his career with the university as a pre-teen, he's an encyclopedia of university history and lore. There's more to David than just the university; he's a fabulous catch-and-release fisherman and makes terrific chocolate chip cookies, too!
Mary Etta is a registered, licensed dietician who took up basket weaving several years ago as a form of relaxation. While David may be the chocolate chip cookie expert, she reigns supreme in the kitchen. John, who passed away in December 2007, liked to be known as our official Quality Control Tester for new recipes. We miss him and his radiant smile, but know he would love the way Seren is bringing her own personal style to recipe testing and light-up-the room smiles! We look forward to meeting you and your family! |
